Each Brass Rubbing is a hand made original.

Measurements: 42" high X 20" wide

This brass rubbing has been created with metallic gold, silver and copper wax crayon on a special black rag paper. The attention to detail using three colors makes this a rare find.

Although this rubbing is almost 4 feet high, the original version was an enormous memorial to King Robert The Bruce that one of his descendants had set up in 1889 to cover his tomb in Dumfermline Abbey in Fife, Scotland.

Rubbings like this one, hand made by craft instructors, make unusual and spectacular gifts.

The fact that it has been rubbed in multi colors makes it a very rare and one of a kind purchase.

Display ideas: it can be hung either from wooden dowels or matted and framed under glass.

Brass rubbing will be shipped rolled up in a strong postal tube.Shipping and handling charges include insurance cover during transit.

Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, was one of the important figures in Scotland's long struggle for independance from England.

After the demise of Wallace, the bannner of Scottish resistance was taken up by Robert the Bruce, who lead his countrymen to victory and freedom from English domination at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.

Although he was crowned in 1306, it wasn't until 1327, after many battles, that he was acknowledged as lawful king by the English. He died in 1329.
