Framed Celtic Circle (Brass Rubbing)

Framed CircleBR 1.jpg

This attractive wood frame has an inside dimension of 12 1/2" X 12 1/2" and
an outside measurement of 15 1/2" X 151/2"

Each Brass Rubbing is a hand made original.

This is a hand made rubbing of The Celtic Circle created with metallic gold wax crayon on a special black rag paper.

The frame has regular glass with hanging brackets on the back and a special gold label that reads "Hand Rubbed at The London Brass Rubbing Centre".

The design, consisting of five interlacing birds and ten reptiles or serpents with topknots and tails, is from a page of the gospel of St. Matthew in the Book of Kells, probably the most splendid early Medieval illuminated manuscript still surviving.

The engraving from which this rubbing was taken is from an exhibition featured at The Washington National Cathedral by The London Brass Rubbing Centre and has more recently been on a National tour as part of their brass rubbing workshop.

Rubbings like this one, hand made by one of their craft instructors, make unusual and interesting gifts!

Here it comes to you already framed in this nice wood frame. The framed picture has a removable backing and hanging device and is covered in a clear plexi glass.

Shipping and handling charges include insurance cover during transit.

We offer combined shipping price if you decide to order more than one rubbing from our catalogue
